Stair Step and Riser

Black granite stairs make a strong statement at an entrance or in a stair hall, and the stone is hard enough to keep crisp nosings under daily foot traffic. We produce stair treads, risers, landings and solid block steps in Shanxi Black and Absolute Black, for interior and exterior use.

• Treads: usually 20 to 30 mm thick, with a bullnose, half-bullnose or square edge. Anti-slip grooves or a flamed strip can be added near the nosing.
• Risers: usually 20 mm thick, in the same finish as the treads.
• Block steps: solid pieces for garden and entrance stairs, often with flamed or bush-hammered tops.

Indoors, polished or honed surfaces are common. Outdoors we recommend flamed, bush-hammered or leathered finishes, which stay safer in wet weather. Curved and spiral stairs can be cut from templates or CAD drawings.

Each step is numbered against your drawing and packed in sequence, so installers can work through the crates in order. Send us your stair drawing or a list of tread and riser sizes, and we will quote and share production photos before shipping.
