Black Pearl Granite

Black Pearl is a dark, fine-grained stone from China that is classed as a basalt but traded as Black Pearl granite or Pearl Black. The surface is an even charcoal black with tiny light flecks. Leathered, honed or flamed, it takes on a soft matte black. It is harder and more stable than many Chinese basalts, which is why it has become one of the best-known black stones for both landscape and interior work.

Black Pearl is used for:

Finishes: honed, leathered (antique), flamed, flamed and brushed, and bush-hammered. Leathered Black Pearl is popular for countertops because the textured matte surface hides fingerprints and water marks.
